Contribute Data

This site was made possible by the critical assistance of several people. Brandon Bowler, Kelle Cruz, Sandy Leggett, Dagny Looper, Kevin Luhman and Scott Sheppard have contributed published spectra to the archive. Kelle Cruz, Michael Cushing, Trent Dupuy, Chris Gelino, Davy Kirkpatrick, Michael Liu, Geoff Matthews, and Mark Pitts have all provided helpful comments to help improve the site.

All of the data have been reduced using the very efficient SpeXtool data reduction package developed by Michael Cushing and William Vacca. Thanks go to the telescope operators at IRTF - Bill Golisch, Dave Griep, Paul Sears and Eric Volquardsen - who assisted with every observation.

Source information have been acquired in large part from, the M, L, and T dwarf compendium maintained by Chris Gelino, Davy Kirkpatrick, and Adam Burgasser. Source data have also been obtained from the SIMBAD database, operated at CDS, Strasbourg, France; and the NASA/ IPAC Infrared Science Archive, which is operated by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California Institute of Technology, under contract with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. The site makes use of data products from the Two Micron All Sky Survey, which is a joint project of the University of Massachusetts and the Infrared Processing and Analysis Center/California Institute of Technology, funded by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and the National Science Foundation.

And finally, a big hana hou! to John Rayner, Alan Tokunaga and the rest of the staff in the IfA instrument lab for developing this incredible astronomical tool!
